We are currently in a phase of many exiting product development projects, and therefore we are now looking for a Project Sourcing Manager responsible for the medium complexity segment High Pressure Die Casted (HPDC) aluminium parts for engine and transmission applications.
Responsibilities
As a project purchaser for HPDC you will be responsible for
• the sourcing and testing strategy of the new parts, as well as its alignment with R&D and Quality Department within Purchasing
• being the main interface towards Scania´s R&D department. This involves securing correct balance between technical function and cost for new parts as well as negotiate and secure that technical concepts are manufacturable.
• securing that parts are sourced and implemented in time within Scania´s development projects.
• together with your purchasing colleagues setting the strategy for the material group, give input to supplier base and identify suppliers for new technical concepts. Currently, the suppliers are mostly based in Europe and Asia with a focus on developing new suppliers.
The role entails cross functional work with both R&D, Production, market department and other brands in the Traton Group to reach best possible product quality and cost for the parts within your area of responsibility.
Your Profile
We are looking for you with a big technical and commercial interest. Earlier experience of the casting/foundry or machining industry is an advantage. Since the role puts high demand on cross functional work and alignment you appreciate working in a team and work proactively to assist and involve others. You are also skilled in communicating with others and you always aim to promote two-way communication. Advanced level in written and spoken English is mandatory, and good knowledge in Swedish is an advantage.
You also have good analytical skills, good structure, takes own initiative and has a passion for developing both yourself and the environment you work in.
You probably have at least 3-5 years’ experience of commercial work in a technical environment and an academic degree in business economics, engineering or similar.
You have a commercial mindset and are skilled and confident in negotiations, in working in a high pace environment and in reacting quickly to avoid and handle crises or deviations.
